By autumn of 2032, we hope to have made back our initial investment in the hobbit holes. At that time, we will stop renting them out and convert the rooms to a voluntary youth shelter. This will allow us to house and care for up to 24 foster children between the ages of 12 and 18. We plan to house only boys since they are typically more difficult to place in traditional foster homes. By providing a safe and peaceful environment for them to heal, learn and grow, we hope to help them become responsible young men who are capable of caring and providing for a family of their own. Foster youth are far more likely to end up homeless or incarcerated at some point, so we hope to interrupt these cycles by providing life skill training and broad exposure to the trades in an enviroment conducive to all types of learning.

Bright and Luxurious hobbit holes check in at 3 PM and check out at 11 AM. Magical and Romantic check in at 4 PM and check out at noon. They are staged to allow us more time to prepare the rooms while giving our guests as long as possible to enjoy them.

Yes, we designed and built them with the help of some professional tradespeople. We were hands-on for every part of the construction process, and we're big fans of earth-covered buildings. Don't get us started unless you're ready for a Ted Talk!

Breakfast is delivered to your door between 9:00 and 9:30 AM. There is no need to place an order. Breakfast is chef's choice. If you have any dietary restrictions or allergies, please let us know when you book your stay. If you forgot to tell us, just message us at (916) 897-6706 at least a day in advance so we can purchase suitable alternate ingredients as needed.

Two of our hobbit holes ("bright, cheery" and "luxurious") allow pets and service animals. The other two ("magical" and "romantic") are hypoallergenic. Please see the house rules regarding animals and ensure that you can comply with these prior to booking.

Charcuterie, but for a hobbit-sized appetite! Our boards have enough meats, cheeses, fruits, veggies and crackers to be dinner for two. A dessert board is included as well, so just bring a hearty appetite and some wine or a favorite beverage to pair with it! We can leave items off for guests with food allergies, but we do not provide substitutions.
